If Diana is heading towards a realisation that her life so far in the new 52 has been some sort of treacherous lie, with the possible long-term goal of restoring her pre-Flashpoint origins, then DC could not have picked a better scribe to facilitate that re-revision. It is an issue full of symbolism, and possibly the best single issue of Rebirth so far. In Wonder Woman: Rebirth #1, Rucka tackles the conflict head on, as Diana questions everything about herself, from the stories of her birth, the possible existence of her twin brother, and her very purpose on Earth. After Darkseid War and Rebirth, Diana has been left questioning if even that much is true. Gone was the notion that she was sculpted from clay and brought to life by the Gods, instead, it was revealed that she was the supernatural progeny of Hippolyta and Ares. Of all the characters to undergo continuity change’s post- Flashpoint, Wonder Woman’s origin experienced one of the larger alterations.
